Who we are

The story of Wagelia Hotel foundation, which opened its first hotel in 1987, is a tale of continual innovation, based on the business wide vision of his founder Walter Coto Molina who was born in Turrialba city to satisfy the needs of visitors at that time who arrived from Caribbean or Metropolitan area and who required a comfortable and warm place to stay with family of friends.

Then on 1998, Hotel Wagelia Dominica is inaugurated to specifically attend the demand of all executives and students who needed a low cost but a quality hotel.

Finally in 2008 Wagelia Espino Blanco Lodge opened its doors at North Verbena also in Turrialba city, more than a hotel a holistic retreat.

Over the years continue to grow positioning the Wagelia brand in the national and international market establishing ” Wagelia Hotels & Lodge, three different hotels, same quality”.

That’s how the Wagelia family was born and is characterized on been totally formed by local staff who are deeply identified with the business vision and mission counting on a stable job and earns for their families.

A company with a wide social vision, identified with the community that has become an emblem for the city.

Wagelia has a Touristic contract and statement issued by ICT (Costarrican Tourism Institute) that supports the quality service and international standards.

The hotel has become a nature’s friend and that’s why nowadays we perform the best practices acting responsibly in the conservation of our natural resources. It also has its own Biological Reserve in an area of 229.000 square meters, located just 8km North from Turrialba city.
